PREDATORY LENDING LAWS

For those of us who have fire and/or police pension funds, we all received a letter dated February 16, 2006 from Michael Madigan, Speaker of the House, requesting us to make a policy requiring certification of compliance with Predatory Lending Laws.

Can you send out an email asking how their pension funds have handled this request?  Our board attorney and investment manager have both told us to ignore the letter.  However, we have been bombarded with telephone calls from Madigan's office demanding answers.

If anyone has responded in writing, could they provide a copy of their letter?  My fax is 815-235-8874.  We are curious what stance they took and if Madigan's office has responded to them.

Thanks for your help.

INVESTMENT POLICY & INVESTMENT BID FORM

I am seeking samples of investment policies from municipalities with an approximate population of 15,000.

Additionally, I am searching for a sample bid form for investing large sums of money and the requirements of the banks/credit unions.  All I could find is it needs to be FDIC insured but credit unions are NCUA...are they acceptable and could I have that in writing?

SEEKING LIABILITY AND PROPERTY INSURANCE CARRIER

Our Village Board recently requested to do a price comparison for the Village Liability and Property Insurance coverage. We have been with Illinois Muncipal League’s Risk Management Association (IMLRMA) for years. However we are having a hard time finding companies who will cover Municipal Government. I am asking for any suggestions from communities who uses another company other than Risk Management. And of course we are needing this information ASAP.

SECTION 125- Wage Works

Could you ask the group if they have had experience with WageWorks as a Section 125 Plan administrator?  Good?   Bad?

Thanks.
