Announcing the 2026 IMTA Annual Conference! 

IMTA is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 IMTA Annual Conference. Plan to join us in East Peoria June 7-9 for three days of professional development, networking, and collaboration designed to empower municipal finance leaders across the state. 

The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center - a modern, full-service venue located along the scenic Illinois River and steps away from entertainment, dining, and riverfront attractions. Activities will kick on Sunday afternoon with a lively networking reception sponsored by the Illinois Treasurer's Office at Dozer Park - home of the Peoria Chiefs baseball team. You won't want to miss a wonderful afternoon enjoying a game, food and beverages in one of the ballpark's private executive suites.  

Monday will begin a full lineup of education focused on emerging trends, legislative updates, investment strategies, public finance tools, and best practices tailored specifically for municipal treasurers and finance professionals. Registration is only $299 for IMTA members and $399 for non members.  Learn more and register here!

What is Institute?

Quite honestly, the Institute program is our pride and joy. A must-have for any treasury professional who wants to gain all the skills necessary to do their job. Established in 1981, the program is designed to accommodate the certification requirements of both our CIMT and the national CPFA administered by APT US&C. The Treasurers Institute is an intensive four-day residential program of continuing professional education for municipal treasurers, general finance officers, and certified public accountants.
